The Traditional Estate of the Mirarr includes much of Kakadu National Park as well as the Ranger and Jabiluka uranium deposits. In 1978, uranium mining was imposed on the Mirarr. Ranger uranium mine has been operating on Mirarr land within the bounds of Kakadu National Park for 30 years.
